It’s going to be a rough winter …

This fellow was strolling down the driveway today … limping and looking quite forlorn (I could be projecting here). When you zoom in, he seems to have cataracts …

From an edit standpoint, I chose this framing to give motion to his body position – walking out of frame yet turning opposite shoulder into frame — it seems to escalate the feeling I associate above.

At the same time, I overexposed the image as a whole, and then selectively underexposed the snow in the foreground to bring “me” into the storyline. I also made his presence a little stronger by spot adjusting contrast and highlights.

What do you think – do the edits work?

** note: I’m calling it a coyote, even though I’m not 100% sure that it’s not a fox
